Manufacturing & Industrial Packaging

Custom industrial bags, tubing, liners, pallet covers, anti-static film, and VCI options developed around the part, handling path, storage environment, and required protection.

Understanding Manufacturing Packaging

Industrial packaging works when it addresses the actual failure mode: abrasion, dust, moisture, corrosion, static generation, part loss, or handling damage. M Plastics can manufacture custom dimensions and specialty films, but VCI, anti-static, and ordinary LDPE solve different problems and should not be substituted casually.

From Our Factory Floor

How M Plastics Approaches Manufacturing Packaging

Manufacturing customers often come to us with a part, a pallet, or a recurring damage problem—not a finished bag specification. That is a useful starting point. Our team measures the item, learns how it moves through the plant and supply chain, and then builds the bag, tubing, liner, or cover around the workflow. In-house extrusion and converting let us solve dimensions that stock distributors cannot.

Common Manufacturing Applications

  • Parts and component bags
  • Work-in-process protection
  • Machinery and pallet covers
  • Bin, drum, tote, and box liners

What We Need to Build the Right Package

Share part dimensions and weight, sharp edges, oil or chemical contact, corrosion or static concerns, loading method, storage duration, outdoor exposure, and closure. Photos, drawings, and samples help prevent guesswork.

Packaging Challenges to Resolve

  • Sharp corners, burrs, oils, and heavy parts can damage film.
  • Corrosion depends on metal type, cleanliness, humidity, and enclosure.
  • Static-control requirements vary by device sensitivity and handling environment.
  • Oversized covers must account for load shape, access, and closure.

Construction and Feature Guidance

  • Lay-flat or gusseted bags protect parts and kits in repeatable sizes.
  • Tubing lets operators cut different lengths from one roll and heat seal the ends.
  • Pallet covers and top sheets protect larger loads from dust and incidental moisture.
  • VCI or anti-static options are selected only after the protection requirement is defined.

From Film Specification to the Packing Line

Material and mil thickness

mil thickness is driven by part geometry, weight, abrasion, closure, and reuse expectations. VCI chemistry must match the metal; pink anti-static poly is not a static-shielding barrier.

Manual and Automated Packing

Review hand packing, impulse sealing, conveyor handling, robotics, scan points, and pack-out rate. Automated use requires tolerances and presentation compatible with the equipment.

Testing and Limitations

Trial actual parts through storage and shipment. Confirm corrosion and ESD requirements with the customer’s engineering or quality team and provide any controlling specification revision before quoting.

A material declaration or FDA-grade resin does not approve a finished package for every product or process. The customer remains responsible for application-specific regulatory review and validation.

Manufacturing Packaging FAQ

Practical answers from a manufacturer. Final specifications are confirmed for your product, equipment, and use conditions.

Can you make unusually large or long bags?

Custom dimensions are a core part of our manufacturing work. Feasibility depends on film width, mil thickness, construction, and equipment limits, which our team will review.

What if one part has sharp corners?

We can evaluate mil thickness, bag fit, resin, and handling, but recommend a trial with the actual part before production quantities.

Can one tubing roll cover multiple part lengths?

Often, yes. Poly tubing can be cut and sealed to different lengths, which may reduce the number of stocked bag sizes.

How should we approve the final manufacturing bag?

Review a production-representative sample with the actual product, packing method, closure, storage, and distribution conditions. Approval criteria should be documented before the full run.

What should we send with a quote request?

Share part dimensions and weight, sharp edges, oil or chemical contact, corrosion or static concerns, loading method, storage duration, outdoor exposure, and closure. Photos, drawings, and samples help prevent guesswork.
